On World Pi Day we meet Sarah Whittaker, Head of Maths at St Bernard's Prep. She began her Maths headship in September 2022, taking over the reins from Anna Bowen, a veteran member of staff with 30 years under her belt. Sarah felt supported to move into Maths from a musical background, thanks to this strong and enthusiastic encouragement.

Pyjama Appeal and The Baby Bank

On Monday 15th November Miss Druce dropped off 50 Christmas gift bags, boxes of nappies and £1000 to local charity, The Baby Bank. Huge congratulations to the Early Years Team and children for raising an incredible £1530! Thank you so much to everyone who donated so generously. It is so nice to support local families.

Calling all writers and illustrators

Henley Literary Festival have announced Creative Competitions for school children, designed to get your imaginative brains whirring.

Budding writers are encouraged to write a story or poem of up to 500 words and for all the artists out there, we have an illustration competition too!

The competitions will be judged in three categories: 4+, 6+ and 9+, with the shortlisted entries being judged by former Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell.

For the chance to win £50 worth of books for your school library, a signed copy of Chris Riddell’s book and a Bell Bookshop voucher, send your entry to info@henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk.

New sports kits

We have introduced a smart new sports kit for years 1-6 to include technical fabrics and school branding. While these new items aren't compulsory until September 2022, they are now available to buy from Goyals. It would be lovely to see the children in the new sports kits when inter-school competitions begin again.
