Dear Parents,

As we get closer and closer to the end of term, the weeks seem to get busier and busier. It has been a whirlwind of activities here at school this week.  Firstly, starting off with our Summer Fête last Friday, what a fantastic turnout we had. The food and drinks on offer were fabulous, and the raffle was, as always, full of excitement and anticipation. I would like to extend a huge thank you to our amazing FOPs team. They truly surpassed themselves.

On Wednesday evening, the majority of our Year 6s performed at Berkshire Maestros. After months of hard work in rehearsals, their performance was nothing short of spectacular! Mrs Whittaker was extremely proud of them all.

Meanwhile, our Early Years had an absolute blast at their sports day on Thursday morning. It was so heart-warming to see all the children participating in their races. Huge thanks to all the parents who came along to cheer on the mini-athletes – your support truly made the day even more special! A big thank you to our St Bernard's sports team for organising everything so well too!

On Thursday morning, we gathered for Mr. Cheesman's Retirement Mass. The Year 6 children conducted the service beautifully, and it was lovely to welcome Mr. Cheesman's wife, Lexi, and son, Fabian – a perfect tribute to a beloved member of our school community.

The Elocution Challenge on Thursday afternoon left us all speechless – the talent on display was simply remarkable. Our chair of Governors, Mrs Nockles said the standard of contestants seems to get better and better every year.

And if this day couldn't have got any better, we were all treated to a picnic lunch and an ice lolly.

Today, Year 4 had a fantastic time exploring the wonders of the Science Museum, sparking curiosity and excitement for the world of STEM.

Let's keep the momentum going as we head towards the end of term – there's still plenty more to come!

Lower Trans U Assembly

Today, Lower Trans U children presented a heart-warming assembly all about friendship. They shared the essential ingredients for being a great friend and mixed them all up in a bowl of kindness and compassion. This assembly was a beautiful reminder of the values that make our school community so special!

Let's make an effort to incorporate these ingredients into our friendships and spread positivity all around!

Year 1 and Year 2

Year 1 and 2 were very excited to have a special visitor on Thursday, Laura from Pumpkin's Wildlife Hospital came to speak to them all about the incredible wildlife we have right here in the UK. The children were captivated by Laura's stories and the importance of protecting our local wildlife.

Laura shared with the children the amazing work done at the wildlife hospital, and how each donation makes a real difference in helping injured animals heal and thrive once again. The children were so inspired by the Pumpkin wildlife hospital they decided to take action. They embarked on a sponsored walk around the school grounds, raising funds to support the vital work of Pumpkin's Wildlife Hospital.

Year 3

Our talented Year 3 children have created mesmerising artwork that sparkle and shine, thanks to their innovative use of Crumble Kits in D&T.

They have expertly programmed their own sparkle lights, adding a magical touch to their pictures that truly captivate the eye. All the pictures are illuminated by the creativity and technical prowess of our young artists. Mrs Gabb is so proud of their sparkling masterpieces.
