End of term - Year 6

Dear Year 6,

Mrs Bowen, Mrs Whittaker and Miss Carter would like to say a huge well done and good luck to Remove Class of 2020. You have worked incredibly hard this year and are a credit to St Bernard’s Prep. From a brilliant ‘Strictly Come Angels’ Assembly and a fantastic ‘Pantastic’ production to a creative and technical final term working remotely – you have all been superstars and we wish you every success and happiness at your secondary

Mrs Whittaker also wanted to give a special mention to Tomasz MIara and Rishi Garg for recording a beautiful version of Pie Jesu. They worked incredibly hard on it. We hope to use it on the school website. Well done and thank you.

Arjun Chakrabarti also gets a special mention in his last week of Year 6 for his Wildlife documentary. It is outstanding - the use of ICT and the level of English in the voice over are amazing. Well done

The Junior Mathmatical Challenge

We had another great result this year in The Junior Mathematical Challenge. The annual event is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK from Yr8 and below.

It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

This year, due to the Corona Virus, 17 of our children participated online. We were awarded  7 silver awards and 4 bronze.

Silver Awards: Saransh Gupta; Rajan Sidhu-Tung; Seb Abraham; Tomasz Miara; Arjun Chakrabarti; Imran Gamiet; Anastasios Vilmas

Bronze Awards: to Anirudh Nair; Krishan Sandhu; Hannah Khan; Zara Khan

I am very proud of all the children’s achievements.

Mrs Bowen

The National Schools' Handwriting Competition

This National Competition offers all 4 - 14 year olds, the opportunity to showcase their handwriting and provides an opportunity for teachers and individual pupils to ensure handwriting continues to be an essential part of the educational process at St. Bernard’s Prep. School.

At St. Bernard’s Prep School, we have always had high expectations of our pupils’ handwriting and presentation skills, and we have continued to participate in this annual competition.

I am delighted to say that Fatimah Waseem has been awarded FIRST PLACE in the Class C section in the 10 year old category.

Congratulations Fatimah!
