Dear Parents
It has been another fun filled week, and we have had the pleasure of catching up with lots of our St Bernard's family. From welcoming our Early Years Dads for a Father's Day breakfast to welcoming parents for the EYFS sports day, we were also delighted to see lots of parents join us to visit our art exhibition and today Year 6 had a wonderful trip to meet the Bernadine Sisters in Stroud.
I would like to say a special thank you to all the dads that came to our EYFS Father’s Day breakfast. It was lovely seeing how busy it was in the dining hall and a real treat for our younger children to share breakfast with their dads before going into class.
As a school we have embraced Child Safety Week, there have been activities throughout the school and all our children, including EYFS, have had First Aid training. From cuts and bruises to more serious injuries, our children now know how to take action and provide immediate assistance. Plus, they can also pass on their newly learnt skills to family and friends.
Early Years sports day was a huge success on Wednesday. Our little sports stars put on an incredible show. From the bean bag run to the skipping race, our young athletes showcased their skills and brought their best game to the field. It was an amazing sight watching them compete with such energy and enthusiasm.
Thank you to all the parents who stopped by the Atrium this week to view our art exhibition. It was great to see so many parents come together to admire the incredible works of art created by our talented children. I am incredibly proud of the budding artists we have within our walls. A big thank you to all the staff who helped collate the work and present it. Another string to our bow to ensure your children receive a well-rounded education.
Year 1 had a very successful cake sale on Thursday for their social justice project to save the Orangutans in Borneo. They were so excited to sell their cakes to the older children at break time and raised an amazing £217 for their cause.
Year 6 really enjoyed their trip to Stroud today, the trip was a deliberate pause for thought and a chance to focus on God. A time to pray, a time to be still and a time to also have fun together. The trip is a reminder that God is with the children as they face the challenge of a new school.
