Dear Parents,

I can't believe it is Friday already! This week the children have enjoyed an array of different activities ranging from meeting their new buddies to enjoying Roald Dahl Day, with a delicious slice of Willy Wonka's chocolate cake. All the extracurricular clubs have begun, and the children really seem to be enjoying the new challenges and mingling with different year groups. I am sure you will join me in wishing all the 11+ candidates all the very best this weekend.

Welcome Meetings

We are all looking forward to seeing you at the Welcome Meetings, which will be an opportunity for you to listen to a short presentation about expectations and standards for your child's year group. Reading, homework, attendance, punctuality and uniform will also be discussed. Please be aware, if you are unable to attend the welcome meeting for your child's class, we will send out a presentation with all the relevant information included.

Summer Reading Challenge

I am delighted so many of our children successfully completed the Summer Reading Challenge.  I am extremely proud of their hard work and commitment to reading throughout the summer holiday. The challenge may be over, but I hope this achievement has ignited a lifelong love for reading. Remember, books can transport us to new worlds, spark our imagination, and teach us valuable lessons. Keep reading, because the adventure never ends!

Sports News

On Wednesday, twelve Year 6 children played in a netball tournament at The Marist School. The children played 9 matches in total, including a game which was St Bernard’s A vs St Bernard’s B team. The children of both teams showed great teamwork and enthusiasm in all of their games!

St Bernard’s A team won four of their matches and played well together, rotating throughout positions and consistently pressing the other teams. Overall, Shaan and Shyla were the A teams MVPs as they helped the team gel together.
St Bernard’s B team won three of their matches and drew another. St Bernard’s B started slowly, and gave the ball away a little too easily in the first couple of games. They then began to control the ball cohesively and started achieving greater success! Overall, Nainikka and Dhaani, were the B teams MVP’s well done!
