Dear Parents,
Once again, it's been an incredible week at St Bernard's Prep, with so many exciting activities leading up to our half-term break.
My biggest highlight was to watch our talented Remove children in action, as they took to the stage during our Guardian Angels Assembly. This year, they amazed us all by impersonating our beloved teachers in their very own rendition of "Classroompool Karaoke". The atmosphere was electric as the children embodied the teachers like true stars, singing and giving us all proper belly laughs. It was a joy to watch their creativity shine through as they performed some of my favourite tunes. What a way to kick off another wonderful Guardian Angels day!
Following tradition, the children were then all treated to an iced bun and an apple, which they thoroughly enjoyed during their extended breaktime. To add to the excitement, they had a street dance workshop and also carried out Guardian Angel activities with their class teachers.

Catholic Schools Mass
On Friday 6th October, Mrs Kottler had the honour of accompanying three of our children to the highly anticipated Catholic Schools Mass at St Mary's Catholic Church in Dunstable. The event, led by the esteemed Bishop David J. Oakley of Northampton, brought together spirited pupils' voices from Catholic schools across the whole of the diocese.
The strong sense of faith and camaraderie witnessed during the ceremony was truly inspiring for our children, reminding them of the rich spiritual traditions that shape our school community. As an inclusive and diverse school, we embrace opportunities like these to deepen our understanding of our faith. Our children left the event feeling enriched and uplifted.
Mrs. Kottler said she was incredibly proud of Joshua, Tessa and Eliana for representing our school with pride, respect, and reverence.

Trans Guardian Angels Day gift
For Guardian Angels Day, the children in Trans went above and beyond to spread love and joy. They created little boxes filled with love and wrote heartfelt poems for their buddies in Upper Prep. The excitement was palpable as the children eagerly awaited the day they could share these special tokens of affection. Education often goes beyond textbooks, it is also about fostering compassion and friendship. Guardian Angels Day is a beautiful reminder of the importance of showing kindness and support to our peers.

Father Kevin's visit to Remove
The Remove children welcomed a visit from Father Kevin on Monday, where he shared his incredible journey in becoming a priest and shed light on the profound responsibilities which come with it.
With keen interest and thoughtfulness, the children posed some amazing questions to Father Kevin, leaving him genuinely impressed. They delved into topics such as the challenges he encountered during his journey and the most rewarding aspects of being a priest.
We are immensely grateful to Father Kevin for taking the time to visit us and share his inspiring story. His visit has truly motivated our students to tap into their curiosity, compassion, and inner strength, as they too strive to have a positive impact on the world around them.

Remove Leaf Prints
This week in Design & Technology, Remove have been using an exciting technique called Hapa-Zome to create some stunning leaf prints.
Hapa-Zome, derived from the Japanese words "hapa" meaning leaf and "zome" meaning dye, is a traditional technique that involves pounding leaves onto fabric or paper to transfer their pigments. It's an amazing way for children to explore nature's beauty and express their creativity at the same time.
The children collected leaves of various shapes, sizes, and colours from our school gardens. They carefully arranged them onto a piece of fabric, ensuring they created a visually pleasing pattern. Then, armed with their trusty hammers, they gently pounded the leaves to release their vibrant pigments onto the fabric. The result? A mesmerising artwork capturing the essence of nature's masterpiece!
We believe art is not just about creating beautiful pieces, but also about fostering imagination and connecting with the world around us. Through Hapa-Zome, our children have not only developed their artistic skills, but also gained a deeper appreciation for some of nature's abundant gifts.
