Dear Parents,

After a short break from our regular newsletter, it’s great to be back, and what a fantastic fortnight it has been!

Last Friday, we enjoyed our much-anticipated Sports Day at TVAC, and we all had an incredible time. The sun was shining down on us all day and the children gave their all in every event, showing outstanding enthusiasm and team spirit. A huge thank you to all the families who came along to cheer them on, your support truly helped make the day even more special.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing Sports Team -  Mr B, Mr Hawkes and Miss Robinson, whose hard work and organisation made the day run so smoothly. It was yet another unforgettable Sports Day, and we’re already looking forward to next year!

This week began with two incredible outings - creating lasting memories for our children. On Monday, Years 1 and 2 had a fantastic adventure at London Zoo, where they explored the animal kingdom up close and had a truly unforgettable day. Meanwhile, Mrs Biscardi and Mrs Whittaker accompanied a group of pupils to the prestigious Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle, a unique experience that gave them a glimpse into royal tradition and British history.

Early Years

Last week, our EYFS children became real scientists as they explored a range of exciting experiments. They investigated floating and sinking, explored the power of magnets, and were amazed by how gummy bears changed in water. The colourful Skittles experiment was a favourite, as the children watched the colours swirl and mix like magic! We ended the week with a bang as Mrs Biscardi demonstrated the exciting Coke and Mentos volcano. It was a fantastic week full of curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning!

Year 3 and 4 – Making a Difference

Our Year 3 and 4 children have thoroughly enjoyed working together on their Go-Givers Make a Difference project. They have shown great teamwork, empathy, and enthusiasm as they explored ways to support their chosen charity, The Rainbow Trust, which provides vital support to families with seriously ill children. Today, the children are putting their persuasive writing skills into action by creating heartfelt letters and newspaper articles to raise awareness for this incredible cause. We are so proud of their passion and determination to make a positive impact!

Achievements

A huge well done to Harry, who took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life event on Saturday. He tackled the Pretty Muddy Kids 5K run with determination and finished in the top three — an incredible achievement! Not only did he complete the course in an impressive 32 minutes, but he also raised a fantastic £610 for Cancer Research UK. We’re so proud of his effort, resilience, and generosity. Well done, Harry!

Under 9 Cricket vs Thorpe House

On Tuesday the 10th of June, our Under 9A and Under 9B Cricket Teams travelled to Gerrard’s Cross to play against Thorpe House.

Both of our teams played exceptionally well with both bat and ball in hand. We saw some good bowling and tight fielding which limited our opposition to score runs. When we batted, our players showed control shots and as a result we saw plenty of 4’s being hit.

Both of our teams won their matches convincingly.  Well done to all the players and special congratulations to both Jeevan and Shivaansh for being nominated as the MVP for their teams on the day.

Sports Day 2025

On Friday the 13th of June we returned to the TVAC for our annual Inter-House Sports Day.

In the morning, our Year 4s, 5s and 6s took to the track and field to compete in various events such as hurdles, sprints, relays and vortex throws. We also had our regular fun races, which included the 3-legged race, egg and spoon and skipping.  With all the athletes determined to get as many house points as possible, we witnessed some amazing individual and team performances on the day.  The overall champions in the Upper school event was MATTHEW.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Lower School children in Years 1,2 and 3 who had the chance to showcase their athletic ability. With all the children participating in running,  hoop skipping, balancing exercises, sack races and space hopping, the competition was tight and the overall house results were very close. In the end, the overall winners of the Lower School Sports Day were MARK.

Huge congratulations to all the children for their outstanding participation and efforts on the day!
