Dear Parents and Families,

We would like to thank all the parents who attended their year group welcome meetings this week. These meetings are such an important opportunity to build a strong parent–school partnership, helping us to work together to support every child’s learning, wellbeing, and development. Your involvement makes a huge difference, and we are grateful for your continued support. For those who have not yet had their meeting, there will be more welcome meetings taking place next week, and we look forward to seeing you then.

On Wednesday, Trans K led a beautiful liturgy focused on caring for creation and the earth we live in. They reminded us that we are stewards, not owners, of the earth, and encouraged everyone to think about how we can care for God’s wonderful gift of creation. Each class has been given a pledge to complete, setting out the actions they will take to look after our world.

On Thursday, our Year 5 children took part in a road safety workshop delivered by Konflux Theatre. The children learnt important messages about how to stay safe on the roads, and at the end of the day, they performed a play for the rest of the school to share their learning in a creative and memorable way.

Today, we were delighted to welcome a representative from Thames Hospice, who officially launched an exciting upcoming project called Trunks Across the Thames. This spectacular public art trail will bring a vibrant herd of up to 30 elephant sculptures to the streets, parks, and landmarks of Windsor and Slough in summer 2026. Our children have already taken on a special Headteacher’s Challenge, to design an elephant for our school. They have thought carefully about colours, patterns, and symbols that represent our school’s values and community spirit. After all the entries are judged, the winning design will be brought to life by an artist and painted onto a real elephant sculpture, which will then be proudly displayed as part of the trail near the River Thames. The project aims to raise vital funds for Thames Hospice while inspiring and engaging our local community.

Sport News

Football and Netball vs Herries Prep

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Herries Prep for two exciting afternoons of sporting competition. A large number of our children across Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in both netball and football matches, showcasing prep school sport at its very best.

With 16 matches played in total — 8 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses — there were plenty of goals scored on both the courts and the pitches, and plenty of smiles too! The children represented the school brilliantly, showing great skill, teamwork and sportsmanship, while also being fantastic hosts to our visitors.

Special mentions go to Faris, Tehillah and Aaruv (Year 4), Ciaran (Year 5) and Jannah (Year 6) for their outstanding combined performances in both football and netball.

Well done to everyone who took part.

As we wrap up another busy week, we hope you all take some time to relax and enjoy the last of the summer sun. Please keep the Remove (Y6) children in your prayers, as tomorrow they will be sitting the Slough Consortium 11Plus. Wishing everyone a restful weekend ahead!
