Dear Parents and Families,
It’s been another busy and exciting week in school!
On Monday, EYFS invited grandparents in for a special Stay and Play session. It was wonderful to see the children sharing their learning and enjoying time with their grandparents.
On Wednesday, we welcomed Mrs Hawkes, who spoke to all the children as part of our Black History Month celebrations. She explained that this month is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black people in the UK and around the world. The children learnt about inspirational figures such as Malorie Blackman, Marcus Rashford, and Stormzy, and how each has used their talents to promote equality, fairness, and representation. It was an inspiring session that reminded us how important it is to value and respect everyone’s background and contributions.
Also on Wednesday, Trans B led a fantastic Liturgy all about St Francis of Assisi, which encouraged us to think about kindness, care, and looking after our world. The children shared prayers and reflections that reminded us how small acts of love and respect can make a big difference in our daily lives.
Thank you to all the Year 6 parents who attended our first French trip meeting. We really appreciate your support and enthusiasm as we begin planning for this memorable experience.
On Thursday, Year 4 travelled to the Aylesbury Theatre to watch The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It was also wonderful to see so many parents joining us for Open House. We hope you loved looking through your child’s books. Also a big thank you to everyone who stayed for “Cheese, Chat and Cheers” to view our elephant art exhibition in support of Thames Hospice.
Today we started the day with a beautiful assembly led by Upper Trans Mc, all about Creation and how we can look after our world. The children shared thoughtful messages and reminded us of the importance of caring for the environment and all living things.
Meanwhile, Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Eton College Museum, where they learnt all about the history of toys and how they have changed over time.
We were also proud to have Eliana (Y6) and Melia (Y3) represent our school at the Annual Catholic Schools Mass, held this year at St Mary’s Church in Dunstable. They did a wonderful job and were excellent ambassadors for our school.
