Dear Parents and Families,

This week has been filled with colour, learning and kindness across the school.

On Monday, we celebrated 'Odd Socks Day' to mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week. It was wonderful to see so many bright and creative odd socks worn by both children and staff. Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun while reminding us to express ourselves, celebrate what makes us unique, and understand everyone is different and special in their own way.

Year 4 had a wonderful and enriching visit to the mosque this week. The children learnt about the history of the Qur’an and had the opportunity to write their names in Arabic. They also explored traditional clothing and examined a range of religious artefacts used in Islamic worship. The children asked thoughtful questions, showed great curiosity and respect, and represented the school beautifully.

On Tuesday, the whole school gathered in the atrium at 11am to mark Remembrance Day. Year 1 placed their poppy wreaths beside our Tommy figure, and we listened to the Last Post before joining together in a two-minute silence. The children showed remarkable reverence, making it a truly meaningful moment of reflection for everyone.

On Wednesday morning, Prep led a beautiful liturgy all about helping others, just as Jesus taught. They spoke thoughtfully about kindness, thinking of those who may need support, and making sure everyone feels included.
This was Prep’s very first liturgy, and they did an exceptional job. We were all so proud of them.

On Wednesday afternoon, EYFS hosted a Baby Bank Ball. Parents were invited to join by bringing donations of pyjamas, a storybook and chocolates, all to be gifted to Slough Baby Bank. It was a joyful event and a lovely way to support families in our wider community. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

This morning, Trans B led a fantastic assembly linked to this year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme: Using Our Power for Good.
The children shared powerful messages about kindness, empathy, standing up for one another, and making choices that help everyone feel safe and included. We were so proud of their confidence and the thought they put into their performance.

Achievements

Congratulations to Evleen, (Yr1) who received an award at a recent wrestling competition! We are very proud of her achievement.

Huge congratulations to Anya (Y6) on her fantastic hockey achievements!
She played brilliantly in the U12 league match, scoring two goals as centre forward, and was later invited to join the U14 girls’ team, a wonderful opportunity that shows her skill and determination. We are very proud of her and look forward to hearing about her upcoming matches.

Finally, congratulations to Siana (Y4) and Amyrah (Y4) on successfully passing their Prep Violin exam, and to Taashvi (Y5) for achieving her Prep Piano exam. The examiner gave all three girls glowing reports, highlighting their hard work, confidence and musical progress. Well done to our young musicians!

Remove Science

As part of their biology unit, our Year 6 children bravely participated in a lamb heart dissection. This practical activity allowed them to examine the heart’s chambers and vessels up close, bringing their classroom learning to life.

Sports News

U10 Rugby Triangular vs Claire’s Court and St John’s Beaumont.

Last Friday, our Under-10 rugby teams travelled to Maidenhead for an exciting triangular fixture against Claire’s Court and St John’s Beaumont. The squad displayed outstanding skill and determination throughout the afternoon, competing impressively against strong opposition in a highly competitive series of matches. It proved to be a fantastic measure of the boys’ development, with a well-balanced set of results. The teams recorded several impressive wins, showing real attacking flair and solid defensive organisation, while a few narrow losses provided valuable learning moments for future fixtures. The overall highlight was the exceptionally high standard of play maintained from start to finish. Every player demonstrated relentless energy, commitment, and excellent sportsmanship. A special mention to Siddhartha and Ari, who were both named MVPs of the day.

Year 4 Girls Hockey at Claire’s Court

On Tuesday, two of our hockey teams travelled to Maidenhead to play in a friendly fun fixture at Claire’s Court School. The emphasis of this fixture was to get our young players introduced into competitive matches and for everyone to have as much fun as possible. The girls all played their hearts out and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Well done to all the players and a special well done to both Kiran and Noa and for being nominated as the MVPs for the day.
