Dear Parents and Families,

The last two weeks have been wonderfully creative across our school.  We were immersed in music, movement and performance through our ISingPop project, and this week our EYFS children have brought the magic of Christmas to life with their nativity production. It has been a joy to see the school filled with singing, storytelling and confidence, as the children shared their talents with families and staff.

Last week, the whole school worked closely with the brilliant ISingPop team, who filled our days with music, rhythm and excitement. Each class took part in daily workshops, learning uplifting songs and energetic dance routines. The children threw themselves into every rehearsal with enthusiasm, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as the week went on. The final concert in Holy Family Church was a real highlight. The children sang beautifully, performed with huge smiles, and clearly enjoyed every moment of the experience.

A huge thank you to all the parents who came to watch, especially those who attended both performances. I would also like to thank everyone who supported the charity through the purchase of T-shirts and merchandise. Your involvement made the experience truly special for the children. A week later, we can still hear them singing the songs and repeating the dance moves around school, a lovely sign of just how much they enjoyed it!

This week, our EYFS children took to the stage for their much-anticipated nativity performance, and they were absolutely wonderful. Their beautiful singing, confident acting and sparkling enthusiasm made the story come alive for everyone watching. It is truly remarkable to see such young children perform with so much assurance in front of an audience of adults. They remembered their lines, their actions and their places brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them for their hard work and bravery.

A Sparkling Thank You to the Robinson Family!

Once again this year, the Robinson family has sprinkled a little extra Christmas magic over our school by donating a truly beautiful Christmas tree. We are delighted to welcome this festive fir, which is already bringing cheer, wonder, and that unmistakable Christmas sparkle to our atrium.

Thank you, for making our Christmas shine a little brighter!

The Great Fire of London

Upper Prep stepped back in time on Monday afternoon, all the way to September 1666!

Part of our school grounds was transformed into Pudding Lane, complete with a wonderful array of Tudor-style houses designed and built by our talented Upper Prep architects. The scene was impressive… but, just as in history, disaster struck! A tiny spark ignited a fire which quickly leapt from house to house, helped along by the tightly packed buildings and a strong gust of wind.

Thankfully, Mr Barton was ready with a hosepipe to bring the blaze under control. All ended safely — although, true to the original events of 1666, not a single Tudor house survived!

Achievements

Last week, our houses went head-to-head in an exciting Interhouse TT Rockstars competition. The final standings were:
1st – Mark
2nd – John
3rd – Matthew
4th – Luke

A huge well done to all our brilliant Rock stars who gave their all for their house, and an extra round of applause for the top three scorers in each house!

Introducing Our Catholic Social Teaching (CST) Team

We are delighted to introduce our Catholic Social Teaching Team, a group of pupils and staff who help our school live out the values of the Gospel in practical, meaningful ways.
The CST Team works to ensure the principles of dignity, community, compassion, fairness, care for creation, and solidarity are at the heart of our school life.

This half-term, they will be focusing on the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Option for the Poor and Vulnerable. To put this into action, the CST Team is launching the Christmas Lunch Hamper Appeal, supporting families in our community who may need a little extra help during the festive season. We warmly encourage everyone to get involved by donating Christmas Lunch items.  Together, we can make a real difference for those who need it most.

Throughout the year, the team will also:

  • Help lead prayer, reflection, and assemblies linked to Catholic Social Teaching

  • Promote acts of kindness, service, and justice within the school and wider community

  • Support fundraising and outreach projects for those in need

  • Encourage everyone to care for God’s creation through eco-initiatives and responsible choices

We look forward to sharing their projects and ideas with you, and we invite you to support and celebrate their work as we grow together in faith and action.
