Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful half-term break and enjoyed some time to relax and recharge.

What a busy and exciting week we had before the holiday! Our Year 6 children thoroughly enjoyed their trip to France, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Their adventures included tasting snails, tackling an obstacle course, taking part in a variety of water sports, visiting the Somme to learn about its historical significance, and spending time on the beautiful French coastline. The trip was filled with fun, learning and plenty of laughter, and we are grateful to the staff who accompanied the children and made the experience so special.

The final week also saw our KS1 children take to the stage for their production of Cinderella Rockerfella. The performances were simply fantastic, and we could not have been prouder of the children. They remembered their lines with confidence, sang beautifully and entertained audiences with their enthusiasm, energy and talent. Thank you to all of the staff, parents and families who supported the production and helped make it such a memorable occasion.

As we settle back into school life, we have certainly hit the ground running. There is a real buzz of excitement around the school as we prepare for a number of upcoming competitions and events. Children are already busy practising for our first-ever Spelling Bee, the SATIPS Handwriting Competition and our annual Elocution Competition. We also have some exciting national maths challenges on the horizon, providing plenty of opportunities for our pupils to showcase their talents and perseverance.

Meanwhile, our Year 6 children have begun rehearsals for their upcoming production, and there is already great enthusiasm building for what promises to be another fantastic performance. With a number of educational visits and trips planned throughout the half-term, there is certainly plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead.

Next Friday, we look forward to our annual Sports Day, always a highlight of the school calendar. We know the children are eager to represent their houses and demonstrate excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.

There is also great excitement building for Bernardsbury, our Summer Festival on 19th June, as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of St Bernard's. We are looking forward to welcoming current and former families for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of entertainment, food, activities and community spirit as we mark this very special milestone in our school's history.

We wish all of our families a wonderful weekend and look forward to sharing more of our children's achievements and adventures with you soon.
