Garter Ceremony Windsor Castle

This week a group of children attended the Garter Day Ceremony

After successfully securing places in the Garter Day ballot, eight lucky children, accompanied by Mrs Bascardi and Mrs Whittaker, had the privilege of watching the grand procession within the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The Order of the Garter, founded by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago, is the oldest and most prestigious Order of Chivalry in Britain. It includes The King, as Sovereign of the Garter, The Queen, several Royal Family members, and up to 24 appointed Companions.

The children were captivated by the sight of The King and Knights, dressed in striking velvet robes, glittering insignia, and feathered hats, walking through the castle grounds accompanied by a marching band.

To round off the day, the group enjoyed a stroll around Windsor Station followed by an ice cream treat!
