Corona Virus (COVID 19)
The government have now updated their guidance with regards to CoronaVirus (COVID19), and the instruction which we must all now follow is this:
- If you have a persistent cough or a raised temperature, you must now self-isolate for 14 days.
- If you live in a household where someone is self-isolating, you must also self-isolate for 14 days
We do not have any confirmed case of CoronaVirus at St Bernard’s, but we do have some staff and children who are staying away from school at the moment as a precaution. The plan remains to continue to keep the school open for as long as it is possible to do so, or until we are instructed by UK government to close.
If a child is kept away from school because they are ill, it is unreasonable to expect them to complete all the work they have missed in school.
However, if the school is directed by the government to close, we have plans in place for remote learning to be available for all healthy children, in order for them to continue with their learning as best they can, whilst under these difficult circumstances.
Can I please remind parents that the remote learning email address will only be activated once we are directed by the government to close.
Finally, as a further precaution may I ask parents of KS1 and KS2 children to both drop and collect their children without coming into school, unless it is essential.
As ever please do not hesitate to contact me about any of the above, or if I can be of any further assistance to you in these uncertain times.
With my best wishes
Mr N S Cheesman
